    Assists in month end close process, financial analysis on variances, and areas of financial reporting. Identifies, researches, and resolves items impacting the financial statements.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required

    This position is responsible for month end accounting functions, account analyses, and special projects.  Essential duties include preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations across various financial statement accounts. Provides financial/analytical support to various departments to explain balances and variances from prior period or from budget. Responsible for various financial reports, which may includes monthly agings, commentary variances, income statement and balance sheet reporting.  May assist in developing complex ad hoc reports and financial analyses.  May assist in integration or enhancement related projects impacting financial accounting.  Identifies opportunities for process improvements.  Ability to prepare clear and concise documentation, including those required for Sarbanes Oxley.  Performs additional duties as assigned.

    Qualifications, Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities and Working Conditions

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field required
    • CPA designation strongly preferred
    • Experience in SAP, BPC, and BI preferred
    • Knowledge and application of Intermediate/Advanced Excel, Intermediate/Advanced Access (preferred), and Intermediate PowerPoint (preferred)
    • Must be a "self starter" to problem solve and master account ownership without significant oversight 
    • Approximately 3 - 10 years experience in Accounting or Finance.
    • Mentor less experienced team members in accounting concepts; may involve review of the work of others
    • Strong communication skills, including ability to clearly explain concepts and issues, knowing when to escalate problems, etc
    • Initiates projects/process improvements and sets timelines and expectations.
    • Ability to navigate in times of ambiguity
    • Makes sound, timely decisions. Balances strategic and tactical goals and objectives.
    • Understands corporate objectives at all levels of the organization.
    • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, adaptable to change, displays accuracy and timeliness, financial and business acumen, high decision quality, professionalism, teamwork, able to maintain confidential information  
    • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
