    The Solutions Architect will have a high level of technical skill and experience across multiple hardware and software platforms, most importantly cloud technology. They will take a leadership role in the development and execution of Tech Data's strategy for its cloud platform and makretplace technology.

    *Must be able to travel to support a wide variety of engagements including: platform and integration workshops, training, and demonstrations

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required

    • Responsible for leading the product and technical discovery process for strategic vendor solutions, new or lifecycle (20%)
    • Responsible for delivering the technical specification documentation to development for custom vendor integrations (20%)
    • Responsible for maintaining relationships with assigned strategic platform vendors and identifying new market opportunities throughout the lifecycle of the vendor’s program and products (10%)
    • Responsible for maintaining relationships with internal vendor stakeholders for assigned vendors, communicating status and platform updates, bringing forward new market opportunities, and taking feedback on business led opportunities and issues related to platform (10%)
    • Responsible for creating product packaging models which differentiate TD’s market offerings and maximize margin potential (10%)
    • Responsible for working with platform product managers to develop user stories and prioritize based on a balanced approach of minimum viability,  differentiation, and time to market (10%)
    • Consults with business teams to make contractual recommendations related to vendor and product onboarding (5%)
    • Accountable for the delivery of features and functionality on platform related to vendor and product onboarding
    • Responsible for engaging with change management leaders to ensure vendor integrations are well communicated to global sales, marketing, and operations stakeholders, ensuring products and programs are onboarded in a scalable way with minimum business risk (5%)
    • Fully understands the landscape of capabilities and functionality on platform and continually makes recommendations to the platform product managers on ways to expand self-service vendor features (5%)
    • Regularly consulted by business teams on standard onboarding opportunities, making recommendations for product modeling, packaging, and integration approaches (5%)

    Qualifications, Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities and Working Conditions


    • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business or Technical Degree Required,  Master Degree Preferred or 12 years of relevant work experience with a H.S. Diploma.


    • Technical, Product Management, and/or Agile certifications preferred


    • 7+ years industry sales experience creating and delivering solutions and product specifications with 5 years technology consultative experience preferred. Must have both a strong technical and business acumen.


    Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required

    • Exemplify Team leader characteristics, provide direction to others through coaching and mentoring. Must have ability to lead a specialized practice and be considered as a go to Subject Matter Expert
    • Work Autonomously with limited supervision
    • Must have a solid working understanding of APIs and other electronic communication protocols
    • Demonstrated experience around Microsoft, AWS, Google, IBM, and other major cloud providers is an asset to the role
    • Advanced understanding of ROI concepts, Comparative Analysis, and Market Trends. 
    • Self Education approximately 5%-10%, must maintain  specific vendor and platform ecosystem knowledge. May be required to attain practice related certs.
    • Intermediate to advanced level usage of Office Suite,  SAP, SharePoint and other team communication and product managemetn tools. 
    • Has well-developed, specific knowledge of vendor-supplied tools in support of assigned technology practice area.
    • Must have the innate ability to own, manage /directs multiple projects while providing deliverables to meet and exceed SLAs. 
    • May be asked to lead specialized practice(s) and considered as SME. May be asked to represent practice when engaging with Partner Community.
    • Advanced Consultative Experience
    • Takes proactive measures to foster and enable strong, mutually beneficial partnerships. 
    • Leverages technology, expertise and strong understanding of cloud ecosystems.
    • KPI's may be measured in revenue dollars (e.g. shared team revenue goals),  Reporting of weekly/monthly activities, A.C.E. (accuracy, consistency and excellency) of work output, Product/Technology Advocacy (Blogs, White Papers) and training sessions (attended/given)
    • Additional duties as assigned
    • Meets attendance & punctuality standards


    • 25%  for TD Events, training, and customer work-sites
