    The Electronic Repair Technician - Lead 


    This person will lead a team of technicians responsible for analyzing, troubleshooting, repairing, and resolving technical problems on equipment at the component level.





    This position is second shift from 3pm to 11:30pm M-F

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required


    • Determines faulty components, recommends replacements, and repairs as appropriate.
    • Perform equipment and component cleaning, regularly scheduled maintenance services and equipment calibration.
    • Performs equipment set-up as needed.
    • Completes documentation itemizing services and updates related logs, e.g., inventory, environmental.
    • Mastery knowledge of the position and how it affects the organization.
    • Specialized knowledge and full mastery of job content, practices, and procedures.
    • Develops process improvement on a wide variety of tasks.
    • Consistently works on highly complex problems requiring independent action and decision making.
    • Must determine best course of action and frequently makes recommendations for improvement.
    • Work is performed under little or no guidance and assigned in the form of broad objectives.
    • Significant ingenuity is expected to recommend solutions to complex problems.
    • May act as an informal team leader and coach junior team members.
    • Frequently interacts with management, external contacts, and other work groups.
    • Coordinates efforts with other departments for optimal efficiency.
    • Actions impact the department and the organization.
    • Errors are very difficult to detect and remedy and will require significant expenditure to resolve.


    Qualifications, Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities and Working Conditions


    • Highly advanced knowledge, skills in electronic fundamentals
    • Able to read and understand schematics and blueprints in order to perform the repair function.
    • Able to apply electric laws to make clear determinations while troubleshooting.
    • Has highly advanced through-hole and surface soldering skills.
    • Able to do BGA rework is a plus.
    • Able to use multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, signal analyzers, and any other devices used in electronic troubleshooting and repair.
    • Troubleshoots electronics devices at component level and resolves integration and configuration problems involving circuit analysis, wave form calculations, fault isolation, programmable components programming and signal flow tracing.
    • May require standing for prolonged periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
    • Overtime may be required based on business need
    • High School Diploma or equivalent in a technical field
    • 5-8+ years in a related position
    • Specific department may require specialized certification, e.g. A+, Network+, Server +, IPC, Product certifications through vendors (e.g., IBM,HP,Dell)
