    The Director, External Communications leads strategic direction and management of Tech Data’s global external communications, including public relations, executive communications, community relations, crisis communications, and social media content strategy. Serves as both a strategist and a hands-on participant, responsible for creating and implementing effective communication strategies that align with the company's business goals and objectives. Ensures alignment with the company's strategic direction across all of the organization's external communications channels to ensure consistent messaging and positive brand positioning. Manages external communications team, including Public Relations Manager, Community Relations Manager, and Corporate Communications Specialist while providing oversight of global external communications resources.

    • External communications (PR, social media)- 25%
    • Community Relations (Corporate/U.S.)- 15%
    • Corporate Social Responsibility (establishment and development of global program)- 10%
    • Executive communications (media, presentations, and appearances)- 25%
    • Reputation management and crisis communications (development, implementation, and continuous refinement) (15%) 
    • Media training (development, implementation, and refinement of executive trainings)- 10%
    • Crisis communications planning (development, implementation, and continuous refinement)- 10%

    • Some travel required.

                                   

    Experience:  

    • 8-10 years of experience in corporate communications/media relations, preferably with public companies
    • 3 to 5 Years of experience directly managing / supervising employees.             

     

    Education:  

    • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business or related field required.
    • Master's / Postgraduate Degree preferred.
