  • Overview

    Tech Data's education group provides high quality IT education classes. In this position you will perform setup of computer systems and software, maintain classroom environments and assist with troubleshooting at our Edison, New Jersey training facility.  You will help create an optimum classroom experience for students, and assist in operating and maintaining the training center to ensure a high level of customer service.  This position is especially well suited for technical degree students looking to build up their resume while completing their degree.  This is a part-time position consisting of 24 hours per week.

     

    Monday 7:30am-12:30pm, Tuesday 7:30am-11:30am, Wednesday 1pm-6pm, Thursday 1pm-6pm, Friday 2pm-7pm

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required

    Principal Responsibilities:

    • Repositions computers from one area to another and sets them up by attaching the necessary peripherals.
    • Ensures computers are up and running with correct operating system and software.
    • Troubleshoots any unforeseen technical issues with in-center staff and remote system administrators.
    • Maintains an accurate equipment inventory.
    • Maintains communications with system administration team if unable to complete or if further assistance is needed, when problems are encountered during a setup.
    • Cleans classrooms including whiteboards, desks, keyboards, monitors, etc. and ensures classroom environment is orderly and organized.
    • Closes and/or opens center to accommodate class hours.
    • Greets clients and ensures they have a comfortable visit during their training.
    • Performs some clerical activities to support the operation of the training center.
