  • Overview

    Sells technical training and educational services provided through public, private and e-learning classes. Advises customer of training and educational features, pricing, availability, scheduling, etc. Accepts orders, closes sales and enrolls students. Such activities may include the following as well as other duties as assigned:

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required

    Principal Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for handling inbound/outbound inquiries from prospective and/or existing customers via telephone, e-mail, on-line and/or chat for an assigned product line or customer.
    • Builds rapport with customers by responding to questions, probing for needs and recommending appropriate solutions.
    • Conducts product or services focused campaigns having a knowledge of complex business solutions to sell offerings to new customers and upgrade or expand existing customers? current products and services.
    • Identifies and qualifies prospective customers, maintains customer records in a customer relationship management system (contacts, email addresses, phone numbers, etc.), and enterprise resource planning system, completes required documentation and records sales prospecting activity in computer-based tracking system.
    • Provides accurate and detailed pricing, quotes, and input on product market values.
    • Responds to Requests for Proposal (RFP), Requests for Information (RFI) and helps author Statements of Work (SOW).
    • Schedules conference calls, on-site meetings and product demonstrations.
    • Establishes and cultivates relationships with sales team, and delivery partners to drive demand for products or services and/or assist in closing sales.
    • Complete monthly and/or quarterly sales forecasts.
    • Maintain sales pipeline in a customer relationship planning system.
    • May assist with trade show preparation and/or digital marketing projects.
    • May attend customer-facing events for lead generation.
    • May accompany sales team members on customer sales calls.
    • May work with logistics and operations in properly processing sales, purchase orders, return merchandise and RTVs.
    • May work with accounting in helping collect accounts receivable as needed.

    Job Level Specifications:

    • Acquiring knowledge about assigned product / service line.
    • Works on smaller, more routine accounts unless partnered with more senior sales representative.
    • Normally receives detailed instructions to perform work.
    • Performs basic sales or service tasks under self-direction.
    • Partners with experienced peers or management to begin to build contacts with customers.
    • Actions mostly affect own work assignments but failure to accomplish goals or meet customer expectations may require others to remedy the situation or make up sales goals elsewhere.

    Qualifications, Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities and Working Conditions

    Work Experience:

    • Typically less than 1 year with a Bachelor's or equivalent.

    Education and Certification(s):

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
