  • Overview

    Job Summary: This position is responsible for driving new business relationships with Tech Data while driving demand with SMB Market resellers. Identifies opportunities to deliver appropriately focused market/brand solutions information, resulting in increased market share and significant value to Tech Data. Establishes and drives effective recruiting that aligns with the business growth plan strategy. Responsible for ensuring smooth transition of the account to the appropriate internal group.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required

    Principal Responsibilities:

    • Targets and initiates contact with prospective Partners/Resellers that have the potential to meet the strategic goals for growth into other markets.
    • Manages new customer(s) and effectively establishes the new account set-up and transition to the appropriate Tech Data internal partner
    • Maintains knowledge of competitors, customers, and programs for their market.
    • Gaining understanding of organization's entire product / service line.
    • Routinely marketing to and engaging with assigned customers to drive increased market share to Tech Data as the solutions distributor of choice.
    • Creates and delivers solutions (configurations) to the customer using judgment and discretion to select the appropriate tool sets and technical knowledge to effectively configure, price, quote and process requests for specific hardware, software, services and configuration design.
    • Performs and perfects sales and service tasks and procedures under self-direction.
    • Builds relationships directly with customers to broaden customer base and increase sales.
    • Routinely negotiates terms and manages the pipeline activity to completion, all agreed-upon customer program requirements including resolution of all pertinent pre-sales issues.
    • Tracks their individual budget on a monthly/quarterly basis, assessing the status of various business opportunities and providing appropriate information to forecast consolidations.
    • Demonstrates a consistent expert-level application of verbal, written, sales, marketing, presentation and interpersonal communications skills.
    • Actions impact the success of the entire work group.

    Qualifications, Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities and Working Conditions

    Work Experience:

    • Five years of progressive experience that includes selling, marketing and promoting solutions to customers in a technical or product support role within a computer products, system solutions-related distribution business or similar environment

    Education and Certification(s):

    • Associate Degree in business, marketing, computer science or related field or an equivalent combination of formal education, training and directly related progressive job experience
    • Product/supplier certifications as required

    Distinguishing Characteristics:

    • This is a senior-level SME who identifies opportunities to deliver appropriately focused market/brand solutions information resulting in increased market share and revenue or material gross profit that is higher than the average.
