The Marketing Communications Specialist creates custom content for a variety of marketing communication initiatives across the orgazination, both for internal and client-facing consumption. The chosen candidate interfaces with peers, executives and external stakeholders to advise and execute on strategic direction of messaging endeavors. The Marketing Communications Specialist uses experience and creativity to creatre campaigns that generate awareness, marketing leads, business alignment, goodwill, etc. for Tech Data and its vendor partners.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required

Principal Responsibilities:


  • Development of marketing content for vendor partners (email campaigns, downloadable assets, infographics, brochures, websites, etc.)
  • Interviewing and developing content for sales and marketing executives (presentations, white papers, use cases, datasheets, etc.)
  • Creative development for vendor partners (video/commercial scripts, conference naming and messaging platform, product advertising, campaign ideation)
  • Coordinates with vendors to produce above mentioned promotional materials
  • Development of content goals and the strategies to reach those goals
  • Analyze key performance indicators to determine content effectiveness
  • Authoring content for Tech Data's blog and its social media avenues
  • Mentoring junior copywriters as required per endeavor

Job Level Specifications:

  • Thorough knowledge of principles, theories and concepts in area of professional expertise. Is competent in all job functions and has general understanding of the industry practices, techniques and standards.
  • Develops solutions to a wide variety of problems and works on projects requiring evaluation and analysis. May refer to policies, practices and precedents for guidance but determines best course of action to achieve results.
  • Work is performed independently requiring judgment and discretion. May receive some limited guidance for new assignments. Work may be reviewed for overall adequacy.
  • Interacts with management and professionals within department and other parts of the organization. May represent department externally on projects or with clients.
  • Actions impact the success of the overall department and sometimes the organization. Failure to accomplish work or erroneous decisions will result in delays to projects, loss of revenue or allocation of additional resources to remedy.



Typically 3-5 years with bachelor's or equivalent or 1-3 years with master's
