Overview

Do you have experience managing large program Event teams?  We are looking for a dedicated Manager, Marketing Events for our team out in Tempe, AZ.  This role develops and manages marketing plans/program that support the financial, organizational, and strategic goals of Tech Data.  This manager will assume the responsibility for strategic planning, staffing/training a support team of Event Planenrs while devloping, managing, and reporting on marketing and communications programs.  If you think you're a fit for this role then apply today!

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required

  • Assists in the development of Tech Data's overall event marketing goals and strategies.
  • Identifies resource requirements necessary to carry out strategic plans.
  • Trains Event Planners to plan, execute and report on marketing activities.
  • Recruits and staffs qualified Event Planners to assist in the execution of marketing plans and activities.
  • Ensures all marketing plans and activities meet Tech Data's goals and objectives.
  • Regularly tracks and reports all marketing activities and results to senior management.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned *Meets attendance and punctuality standards.  
  • Will travel to manage events and large programs on-site when applicable.

Required Education & Experience (Years & Type)

  • B.S./B.A. Degree in Marketing, Communications or similar area required.
  • Minimum five years professional experience in a Marketing organization, preferably high technology related.

Preferred Education & Experience (Years & Type)

  • Advanced degree (Master's and above) in Marketing or Business related field.
  • CMP Certification Preferred.
