Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required

Industrial Engineering Department:

Responsible for determining most effective ways to build/test/repair electronic product or provide services. Develops methods to increase productivity, maximize efficiency, and manage workforce most effectively.

 

Potential partnering with the following groups:

  1. Material Management
  2. Program Management
  3. Plant and Facilities
  4. IT
  5. Production/Repair/Logistics

Potential summer project responsibilities:

  1. Perform time studies of current build processes, evaluate material flow and presentation, and define most efficient operation sequencing.
    1. Update and improve build capacity models and resource planning models.
    2. Analyze test failure/repair data and establish an effective quality feedback loop to the production line.
  2. Optimize floor layout designs of Repair Center and Logistics Center.  (AutoCAD LT)
  3. Assist in NPI (New Product Introduction) of new customer programs.  Determine customer requirements, develop process flow charts, create efficient floor layout plan, and establish streamlined repair processes.
  4. Implementation of electronic maintenance management system. (Preventative maintenance of facility equipment)
 

Skills required:

  1. Basic knowledge of a design software (AutoCAD, Solidworks or something similar)
  2. MS Office Suite (Excel, Visio, Powerpoint, etc)
  3. Preferred Junior or Senior Level Student.  This includes rising juniors (students going from sophomore to junior year having completed 2 years of school).  Recent graduates can also apply.

  • Be a current college student or recent graduate (within the past year)
  • Be able to work in the United States
