Overview

Supports marketing related communications needs of designated specialist business area.

Communicates the company’s competitive advantage using a wide range of marketing and

communication media to promote the sale of company products and services and further the

company’s business and financial objectives. Such activities may include the following as well as other duties as

assigned:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Plans, implements and develops new marketing ideas, campaigns and communications projects for business and partners.
  • Provides guidance to business in developing and executing communications programs including brand, capability and product promotion.
  • Prepares communications and marketing materials for internal and external use on brand, value proposition, products, services, business
  • strategy and overall market position.
  • Determines and uses the most effective communication methods and media to build awareness of and promote specific solutions, services or products.
  • Leverages web marketing, trade show activity and other marketing efforts of other business units.
  • Coordinates with business and customers to produce marketing collateral, online marketing, presentations, newsletters, blogs, web content and other marketing communications materials
  • Acts as a liasion with outside vendors 

Qualifications, Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities and Working Conditions

Job Level Specifications:

  • Thorough and demonstrated knowledge of principles, theories and concepts in areas of marketing and communications. Is
  • competent in all job functions and has general understanding of the industry practices, techniques and standards.
  • Develops solutions to a wide variety of problems and works on projects requiring evaluation and
  • analysis. May refer to policies, practices and precedents for guidance but determines best
  • course of action to achieve results.
  • Work is performed independently requiring judgment and discretion. May receive limited
  • guidance for new assignments. Work may be reviewed for overall adequacy.
  • Interacts professionally and collaboratively with marketing, sales, management and professionals within department and other parts of the
  • organization. May represent department externally on projects or with clients.
  • Actions impact the success of the overall department and organization. Failure to
  • accomplish work or erroneous decisions will result in delays to projects, loss of revenue or
  • allocation of additional resources to remedy.
  • Must have solid and demonstrated copywriting skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud suite and desktop publishing tools a plus

 

Experience:

Typically 3 - 5 years with bachelor's or equivalent or 1-3 years with master's

 

Education/Certification:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in general communications, journalism, marketing, digital media or business.
