  • Overview

    Job Summary: Provides technical support to customers by serving as the primary technical interface for Tech Data products, solutions, and services, specifically the Dell EMC solution offerings. Performs a variety of product, and technical support functions which include research and resolution of pre-sales technical and process related issues. Such activities may include the following as well as other duties as assigned:

    • Assist partner sales & technical teams with guidance to support solution determination.
    • Utilize Dell EMC configuration and sizing tools to properly match request to appropriate solution.
    • Provide overflow support for partners' internal configuration teams.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required

    Principal Responsibilities:

    • Assists sales channel, field teams and customers with pre-sales technical solutions.
    • Provides pre-sales support across multiple supplier/product lines converged solutions.
    • Provides pre-sales resolution of all technical and process related issues, using appropriate escalation points when necessary.
    • Reviews and consults with customers and technology group to clarify and/or resolve problems, evaluate operational and performance requirements.
    • Reviews and consults with customers concerning design, development and maintenance of products/services.
    • Communicates complex information and ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively to target audiences.
    • Participates in products, solutions or services training to maintain technical knowledge, active certification and competence.
    • May assist in determining the feasibility of proposal, conferring with customers and technology group to clarify and/or resolve problem.
    • Support Tech Data related projects.

    • Thorough knowledge and frequent application of technical standards, principles, concepts and techniques.
    • Develops solutions to a wide variety of problem and works on projects requiring evaluation and analysis.
    • Applies technical knowledge, concepts or theories when determining which solutions are best applied.
    • Work is performed independently requiring judgment and discretion. May receive limited guidance for new assignments.
    • Work may be reviewed for overall technical adequacy.
    • Interacts mostly with internal company contacts.
    • May represent department across organization or externally on projects.
    • Actions impact the completion of milestones within a project.
    • Failure to accomplish work or erroneous decisions may result in delays to portions of a project and allocation of additional resources to remedy.

    Qualifications, Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities and Working Conditions

    Work Experience:

    • 3-5 years with bachelor's or equivalent combination of formal education and directly related experience.
    • 1-3 years with master's Education and Certification(s): Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical education

    Distinguishing Characteristics:

    • Works with both internal & external customers
