This role is responsible for managing Tech Data’s Records and Information Management function and setting goals and strategic direction.  Supports and consults with all areas of Tech Data’s organization to assess, implement and guide process improvement with a focus on quantifiably increasing records efficiencies. The IG manager will act as a business leader within the in-house legal team in meeting Tech Data’s legal service needs.  Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring compliance with policies and procedures related to Tech Data’s discovery obligations and for providing litigation support.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Required


  • Develop and implement global enterprise information management and records policies and procedures to ensure that appropriate information governance and accountability measures are in place
  • Lead a broad range of large scale program and project efforts acting as a business liaison with other departments to ensure appropriate information management practices and controls are in place to meet relevant information risk, policy and regulatory requirements
  • Act as the primary records contact and subject matter expert for global enterprise responsible for the management of all recorded information, physical and electronic, generated and maintained by the company
  • Lead records retention and destruction efforts to reinforce compliance, recordkeeping best practices, and industry standards
  • Assess the activities of local records operations teams and recommend process improvements measured against national and international standards
  • Support legal department to ensure proper scope and reason for litigation hold and preservation orders and administer litigation hold system and procedures
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place to enforce the confidentiality, privacy and security obligations for protected information working closely with Information Technology and Cyber Security teams to identify evolving data protection risks, threats, trends and tools
  • Provide support to the executive Information Management Committee and the Board of Directors' CyberTech Committee
  • Keep current with information technology, related legal and industry standards, regulations and emerging practices and their impact on the planning and implementation of Tech Data’s RIM program
  • Provide RIM training and guidance across the enterprise

Qualifications, Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities and Working Conditions


Previous Work Experience:  5+ relevant work experience.


Required Education: Bachelor's Degree 

Other Education/Certifications:  Paralegal and/or Records Management Certification (CRM).  CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional helpful)
